Bear Eats Yellow Jacket Nest!
I cut some turkey sign while scouting today and took off on foot to try to unravel where they were coming and going when I came upon a huge yellow jackets nest that a black bear had destroyed and eaten. There was still some paper left up on the side of the oak tree that the nest was attached to. This thing was about 2 feet above the ground and extended down into the ground another 2'! The bear excavated a huge hole to get to all the larva in the nest. This was one of the largest nests I have seen. You get to see some pretty interesting things knocking around in the woods! Larry S.

A Pair of Florida Black Bears on Trail Camera!
.
Apparently it was bears night out this weekend at Larry's stand and it was all you can eat, golden delicious! (you know....whole corn)
Not one, but two bears showed up at the stand this time and they are camera hams. They posed every which way.... looking at the camera, lying down eating, scratching, rolling, imitating a bear skin rug.....you name it.
The whole sequence of shots was so interesting I decided to post them as they were shot from start to finish. The camera is set to take a picture every minute when triggered. Here is what it captured.
